Nelson-Tasman

Across the Cook Strait from Wellington and the North Island is the Nelson – Tasman region, considered the gateway to the South Island. With an array of charter vessels to fit all styles and budgets, you can choose between Nelson and nearby Picton. Across and around Tasman Bay you are then in the magnificent Marlborough Sounds, where you’ll be fishing the mussel farms for consistently good snapper, blue cod and often very nice sized kingfish in selected areas. This whole region boasts plenty of apré fishing experiences too being a famous outdoors adventure location.

Picton

Picton is the focal point for the adjacent Queen Charlotte Sound. The Marlborough Sounds is also well suited to smaller craft such as kayaks and dinghies due the calm waters and sheltered bays, a perfect way to escape from reality for a few hours. Lots of charter options for coastal fishing, diving and just cruising the beautiful sounds.

Nelson

Nelson, at the top of the South Island, faces out to Tasman Bay. Known for arts and crafts plus wineries and the start of the Abel Tasman National Park. has a number of charter vessels and styles for all budgets.
